Happy Birthday Clay! 9 years old!

Dear Clay,

I love reading with you. We've read the Ramona books together, we've also read the Clementine books. Currently we are reading "My Father's Dragon". You are a great little piano player. You don't always love to practice, but you are learning and growing from your piano experience and I hope you will love having the skill.

You are SO into basketball. The other day I asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up and you answered an NBA basketball player. That made me giggle, but I love that you are dreaming big!

You are doing your best in school and you have a good heart. You try to read your scriptures on your own which I think is just awesome!

You have been playing outside SO much during this pandemic and school closure time. Your skin is so tan and your hair is SO blonde.

I love you so much buddy!

Quotes 2016

Clay was jumping from tile to tile in our kitchen, then kind of spinning on each tile, careful to stay within the square shape of each tile. I asked, "What are you doing?" and Clay responded, "I'm square dancing!"

Clay, said every time he prays: "Help us to be like the Gospel."

Clay, said another time he prayed for each person in our family that they could "do good" in either school or work when he got to me he said: "...Please bless mom that she can go to the gym." I guess that sticks out to him!

We were walking into Wells Fargo when Paige saw a man with shoulder length hair and a beard getting into his car. I was holding Paige and she grabbed my face and turns my head toward the man. Then she says, "Mom, there's Jesus!" (November 2016)

In school Miles was learning about the Great Depression. He was talking on and on about it to me and started talking about Herbert Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt. He was trying to tell me about the president known as FDR (Roosevelt) but instead he kept saying, "KFC" I couldn't figure out what he meant until he said, "You know, he was president after Hoover, everybody called him KFC". I had to explain he was actually known as FDR! (October 2017)
