September Happenings

On September 1st I turned 36 years old. I went on a walk in my most favorite place in the world, the Mapleton city trail. I love how quiet it is, the birds sing, in the fall the wild sunflowers bloom, there's something soothing and joyful about being in quiet nature, close to the mountain.

After school Hailey and Paige rode their bikes around to pick a bouquet of these wild sunflowers for me. They also made me pink cupcakes! Joey got me SO MANY nice things, he really went above and beyond! He really is the man of my dreams still after 17 years!

We took a family bike ride, which was the BEST memory. We just rode around Mapleton and stopped at the playground.

Walking on the trail with Hattie, Heidi, and KC Wayne (September 2nd)

We took a great getaway for Labor Day up to Eden, UT. SO PRETTY! It was great to have a little vacation and spend extra time together.

Of course we hiked.

And we spent a lot of time sticking our feet in the mud...

On Monday September 5th we arrived home from our Labor Day vacation trip. Almost immediately after we returned home we noticed pillars of smoke coming from the mountain about 5 minutes away form our house. Someone had been doing some target shooting and had started a fire on the mountain. The fire grew to 1,000 acres in only a matter of hours. Over 200 homes were evacuated. It was pretty scary. And then an miracle happened. A huge rainstorm blew in and it started raining around midnight and continued into the morning. It put the entire fire out. It was more than a coincidence. It truly was a miracle!

Garden carrots.

Paige had to do a "Do It Yourself" book for school so we did "How to make blueberry muffins". Paige wrote a great book about how to make the muffins. We took pictures of each step for her book.

Enjoying her blueberry muffin end result. They were delicious!
